Today I got to go to SeaWorld for a special announcement of the new Bay of Play staring Sesame Street characters - it's opening in 2011 & I know it will be a big hit with fans of the street!

2009 Year In Review

This is my 3rd Year in Review layout. In 2009, we celebrated 3 years begin married & 10 years together!

Here's the text in case it's too small to read:
The kiddos from Lockhart came for a visit to the zoo in January. In February SD & I volunteered with Ashley, & friends to make tacos at the Rodeo Fajita Corral. In March we volunteered for the 2nd year in a row to take & process photos at the MS Walk. I started working for March of Dimes in February and by May we had recruited American Idol finalist, Haley Scarnato to sing at our walk! I learned to drive a scissor lift to hang banners from the scaffolding & there was a downpour on walk day so we were soaked to the bone after cleaning up the park. In June we took a road trip to Omaha, NE for SD’s graduation from Bellevue Univ. His mom, dad, brother, SIL, nephew & nieces and my sister and nephews met us there! We were all so proud of him. After the ceremony, we took the kids to the Omaha Zoo for some fun. In July, we drove to Austin for my multi-class HS reunion (14 years for me.) Later that month we took a weekend trip to Rockport and enjoyed the ocean for a couple of days. In September, I flew to Minnesota so Lynn and I could go to Scrapfest. Then in December, SD and I took our first trip to NYC! We did all the touristy things we could fit into 5 days!

Week 5 Assignment

-Demonstrates accurate use of color, especially for rendering of lighting and shadows.
-Unifies a selection of dissimilar source images.
-Demonstrates strong composition, with a clear center of focus.

Week 4 Assignment

I need some feedback for an assignment that’s due Saturday. So please leave me a comment & let me know what you think. The assignment was to create a layout that:

1 - Unifies a selection of lines, shapes, colors, values, and directions.
2 - Demonstrates harmony, dominance, balance, proportion, unity, repetition, and contrast.

I was inspired by a painting we saw in one of the videos where the artist was explaining the various elements and principles of design. This is for a grade, so please feel free to be honest. I need to get this right.

I spent a fun day in the country with my friends Ashley & Stephanie. It's been about a year since the last time we stayed at Ashley's family house and I have to say that's WAY too long. I snapped this pic of Marco who is obsessed with playing fetch. He's not staring at my camera, he's staring at a stick hoping someone will pick it up and throw it for him. Beware, if you do cause he has tons of energy & never wants to stop. ;o)

Well, I'm almost 5months into working for MOD and I still love it! Here's a TY card I made for the people who supported me (financially or by donating their time).

Most of the embellishment I made myself, or were from CU files - I wasn't planning to post, so i didn't keep track. Oops!

Good news - I'm almost finished with school. I have 10 weeks left in my current class and then 2 electives and I am finished. Thank goodness. Hopefully I'll have more free time to be "kreative" after this.

Zoo Fun

Wow! My new job and school are really keeping me busy. I have been a horrible blogger. So sorry. I am still taking a new photo every day and hopefully I will get all caught up! In the mean time, here's a cute photo I took of a grizzly bear at the zoo this weekend. We are Zoo members and this weekend we went to the cock-a-doodle zoo breakfast and annual membership meeting. It was pretty early in the morning and feeding time, so I got some REALLY great shots of the lions and tigers and bears….and birds, and cheetahs, etc…I can't wait to scrap them and show you all.

I lifted the template from this blog: http://fryskesdigiscraps.blogspot.com/ and modified it to fit my photos. Finding a way to put seven photos, journaling & embellishments on one page is quite a challenge…I may have to do more two page spreads for upcoming weeks!

Project 365, Week 2

Here are the Project 365 photos I took last week. It was a very busy week for me. I accepted a position with the March of Dimes to run the March for Babies in SA. We also had a few of our Nieces and on our Nephews in town for the weekend. We had a blast, but 3 kids are a lot of work!

To scrap this 2 page layout, I used a kit called Strawberry Delight by Annie Manning at http://www.paintthemoon.net/. I also used a Project 365 template created by Karen Maggie, Studio Crew Member for Scrapbookgraphics.

2008 Year in Review

I’m still working on scrapping my Project 365 photos from week 2 and plan to post them very soon. In the mean time, I finished my 2008 Year in Review page. I made a similar page for 2007 to document mine and SD’s first year being married and I hope to keep up this tradition for a long time.

I scrapped this LO with the sunshine wonder girl’s Sugared Fruit Topping kit available at http://www.sunshinestudioscraps.com/. I created the word art, stamp frame template and staples myself.

Fun Moments

Here are a few photos of the kids having fun at Olivia’s b-day party. Kristian, KK and Olivia are coming to town this weekend and we’ll be taking them to the zoo. I have a couple art projects planned and plenty of stuff to bake cookies – and if they get bored, they can always slide down the stairs on pillows like last time. I never lived in a house with stairs when I was a kid, so a makeshift pillow/stair slide was always one of my most favorite parts about visiting friends who did. I guess it’s a kid thing!

There’s been a lot of buzz online about Project 365 so I’ve decided to participate this year. As part of this project, I’ll be taking one picture every single day – by then end of the year, my creative photography skills should be greatly enhanced. To take it a step further, I’m going to scrap each week’s photos and by the end of this year, I’ll have a magnificent record of each day of my life. It’s going to be exciting to look back and remember a little moment from each day. The past 2 years of my life have been pretty difficult, so it’s time for a turn around and I KNOW 2009 is going to be wonderful!

To scrap this layout, I used a kit called Spontaneous Delight by Carrie Stephens (http://www.carries.typepad.com/). How kismet - I decided to participate in this project the first time I read about it on this blog; it was a spontaneous decision that I am very delighted about. ;o)

Holiday Party LO #2

I decided to scrap a few more photos from this holiday party. Even though I didn’t know very many people at this party, I had a lot of fun. I saw some old friends and made a few new ones too! Here I am with Ashley and Phyllis in the photo on the top right. Teri and I are huggin’ it out in the photo on the bottom left.

I created all the papers and elements for both these layouts. Now I’ve been inspired to turn them into a kit. So, check back soon and I’ll have a little present for you digiscrappers. Happy Holidays!

Here are a few more photos from my trip with Ashley and Stephanie to the Heck Farm.
I continued to use the “shooga” kit by susan designs to scrap these photos. The quote is the first verse of a Song by Nora Jones called Peace. I used it because the farm was so peaceful and serene. It’s a great place to escape and relax, which is something we did a lot of on this trip!

Here, Ashley is taking photos with her cousin, Wes, and Uncle, Garrett…and Ashley’s dad is in the photo with the 3 of us.

Last Sunday was so beautiful, especially after two nights of very cold temps. We really enjoyed the sunshine as we walked along the property and down to the river. We even tested our courage as we climbed out on this big tree that had fallen off the side of the bank and was resting in the water.

SA Rock 'N' Roll Marathon Photos

Here are a couple of pictures I took at the inaugural San Antonio Rock 'N' Roll Marathon this past weekend. My friend Ashley and a group from Team in Training ran the half marathon. Several of us volunteers worked as cheerers to help motivate the runners to keep pushing on and make it to the finish line.

The race sold out with 30,000 participants. As you can imagine, downtown SA was a mad house that day. After dropping off Ashley at 6 am, Steph and I found our cheer spot between miles 3 & 4 and waited in the cold for the race to start. It took about 4 hours for everyone from the San Antonio Team in Training group to make it to this point - mostly because we were early and because they let participants start in groups so you don’t have 30,000 people all starting at once. Then we made our way to the finish line at the Alamodome and cheered everyone to the finish.

This poster took a while to finish because the owner and I had trouble finding time to meet so that I could get a photo at the right angle. I took some pics at a car show, but there were SO many other cars around that I couldn’t get a pic of the car at the angle he wants. Oh well, it’s all done now and I have another commercial design to add to my portfolio. Yeah!

Pictures at the Park

I took these pics with my cell phone so they aren’t the best quality…but they are the only pics I have from the afternoon I took my nephews to play at the park, so they had to be scrapped.

We had been home all morning so a walk down to the park after Luke’s nap was just what we needed. The boys really enjoyed playing in the sand. We used plastic cups to make “sandcastles”. Luke’s favorite part was knocking the sandcastles down after Lloyd put them up…as you can imagine, Lloyd was not very thrilled with that so I started taking pictures to distract Luke. We also sent the pictures to mommy’s email so she could see how much fun we were having while she was at work.

Wow! I am on a role this week – this is my 3rd post! I have really enjoyed having a bit of extra time to scrap…of course, that’s how life is…some days you’re so busy you want to pull your hair out and other days you have more free time than you know what to do with!

A lot of people dressed up at work today so you know I HAD to join in the fun. I found this great bag of candy blood and then these awesome wound tattoos and the whole thing just sort of came together at the last minute. But I really grossed some people out so that made it totally worth it!

I finally found time to do some digi-scrapping. I took these photos last month when Ashley and I met our friend Griselda in Austin for lunch at Romeos. The weather was absolutely perfect and we enjoyed sitting on the patio with our margaritas and beer. It was a busy day in Austin because there was a UT football game and the Austin City Limits music festival.

I am also almost finished with another kit so check back in a few days for a sneak peak!

Keeping Busy

I haven’t had much time to work on personal projects lately because I’ve been so swamped with work and school. So, I decided to show you some of the other things I’ve been working on.

Here’s a logo I created for work – this is for a month long contest in the sales department:

I’ve also been taking on as many freelance projects as I can. I really need to build up my portfolio and build my experience. Here’s a poster I’m working on for a friend of a friend. He wants to display this with his race car at races and shows. Eventually, I’ll add a large picture of the car between the title and the body text - and maybe some smaller photos along the side over the checker boarder. (I’m just waiting on feedback from the owner before I go much further.)

Mystic Zoorific

I have several friends involved in Teams in Training, an organization which provides professional coaching to run marathons in exchange for fundraising to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. This past Saturday, I went with my friends Ashley and Stephanie to a fundraiser at the Robot Art gallery called Mystic Zoorific. Both Ash and Steph have run trained for and marathons with TinT and now they volunteer to help train others.

This fundraiser was quit unique! Zoomagination brought in exotic animals and that we got to touch and feed. Here, we got to take a picture with a sweet little wallaby. There were also magicians, a DJ and plenty of wine and hors d’oeuvres.

I was asked to design a farewell poster for one of our senior leaders. This was printed and will be signed by all our employees. It turned out so well, I thought I would share it with you all.

Sorry I have been neglecting my blog. It’s been a rough few weeks. Where to start…my company was purchased and is merging with another bank so I don’t know how much longer I’ll have a job. Then, my husband’s grandfather passed away so we were out of town for the funeral. And of course there’s the ever present homework that takes up so much time. I can’t wait for June to roll around!

New Lay Out

I've been working on a new kit and trying to catch up on scrapping some layouts, so I haven't blogged in a few days. Here's a LO I finished today. I scrapped this pic of Gab at my friend Yvette’s baby shower in April....she looks thrilled doesn't she? lol. I completed this LO with my portion of the Music Team Kit available at Scrapper's Zone. I’m working on a few other Los, but they aren’t ready yet - I'll share them you soon.

We're expecting bad weather this weekend - ok, not as bad as the people close to the coast, but lots of wind and high rains…I can’t wait. I love a good thunderstorm.

It’s been 7 years since the attack on the World Trade Center in NY. Please don’t let this day go by with out a quick prayer for everyone who was affected by this tragedy. They say time heals all wounds, which is a good thing…but we have to work hard to remember the past and to learn from it.

A Little Princess

Mariposa Photo

I snapped this photo of a butterfly (mariposa in Spanish) in the butterfly exhibit at the Minnesota Zoo. Lynn and I took the boys there for a birthday party and then too look at all the animals. I helped Lloyd move very slowly so he could gently touch the wing of a butterfly. He was SO excited. It’s the only time I’ve ever seen him be that still. ;o)

Hello everyone! I’m back from a fun filed visit with my sister and her boys. I was only gone a week, but had such a great time that it feels like I’ve been gone a month. For those of you who don’t know, my brother in law is in China working on the train system that everyone will use during the Olympics. In order to reduce the pollution, all the locals have had their driving restricted during the games and they’ve turned off all the factories. This should make a big difference in the smog. Meanwhile, people have to get around and that’s where the trains come in. BIL was there for a couple weeks – came home for 1 week and has gone back for 3 more weeks.

So, because BIL is traveling, I planned a trip to visit my sister so she wouldn’t be so lonely. She had to work a few days while I was there, so I watched the boys. That was a lot of fun - we walked to the park, played with water guns, played Wii, watched movies and had a blast. Lloyd turned 6 while I was there! I’ve got tones of new pics of my sweet nephews and I hope to get some scrapped and posted soon.

In the mean time, here’s a LO of some pics I took before I left. My all time FAVORITE pizza at California Pizza Kitchen is the Pear and Gorgonzola. They took it off the menu and I was so PO’d - I didn’t go back for a LONG time. Well, thanks to fans like me who complained, they’ve brought it back and I am SO thrilled. So, I took some pics with my camera phone when SD and I had dinner there a couple weeks ago…how can you not LOVE a pizza served with salad on top??

A Gift for MJ

I digiscrapped this LO of my friend Mary Jean as a gift for her retirement. At her party this weekend, I got to see a lot of great people from my old job that I haven’t seen in YEARS! It was so much fun to reconnect with so many wonderful people. A group of us is going to get together for dinner this week. It’s so hard to stay connected with people – sometimes life just gets in the way. But I’m going to try hard to keep these great gals in my life this time around. ;o)

Grungy Pics of the Boys

I’ve been working like mad to get my latest kit finished. It’s almost ready and will be available at scrapper’s zone very soon! I always need masculine elements cause there are a lot of boys in my life…the trouble is, they’re just not as popular as the girly embellishments. So, while scrapping these pics of my nephews, I decided to make a few rustic embellishments which this turned into a great idea for a new kit.

Here, Lloyd and I are dressed as pirates, at the Mall of America’s “Park After Dark”. It was a family style Halloween celebration and we all had a great time!

This LO may look familiar as I posted it last week with a different picture. I discovered that I had already scrapped that picture and it is “snug as a bug in a rug” in my scrapbook. Well, the beauty of digiscrapping is, you can make a few changes and have a new picture in the same layout super quick. Yeay! So, here is the latest version of this LO. We were at the MOA and Luke was hungry – he had no patience for Aunt KK’s camera…he wanted to eat!

I’m working on a kit that has a bunch of metal odds and ends. I wanted to test out some of the elements to see how they would look in a layout, so I scrapped this photo of my nephew. I also used a tutorial I found online to give the photo a grungy look and I just LOVE to colorize those gorgeous blue eyes!

I'm going to MN to visit my newphews at the end of the month. I can't wait to see how much they've grown since October.

I created all the paper and elements on this page, except for the sequins. They area CU and made by Gunhild. She doesn’t require credit, but since I love her stuff, I decided to tell you all about her. Check out her blog when you have some time.

A Patriotic Freebie & The Flag Poem

I found this poem at the American Flag Foundation’s website. The author wrote it just a few days after September 11, 2001. The poem touched my heart so I thought I would share it with you all.

As we celebrate American Independence Day this weekend, let’s all take a moment to remember the millions of people who have died to protect our freedom. We are all so blessed to enjoy the precious gift of freedom that many have laid down their lives for. No matter what your political affiliation or personal beliefs, please take a moment this weekend to be thankful for the people who have fought and been injured or lost their lives so that we can all be free.

One great thing about digiscrapping is that it's so easy to put away a LO if it's just not working or you have something else to do. Today, I was cleaning up my digi folders and came across 2 LOs that I started and never finished! So, I wrapped them up and here they are:

Practicing Patterns

We were out of town last weekend for my hubby’s 15 year reunion. I took a ton of pics that I’ll have to find time to scrap for you. Since we missed Friday and Monday as well, I’ve spent most of this week playing catch up at work and with homework.

Of course, I always seem to find time for scrapping or designing. Today, I did a little of both. I got this great tutorial on making patterned paper through my aspiring designers group. This pinks & purple feminine paper with lovely butterflies and pretty flowers is the result of my 1st attempt at a more complicated pattern. Not too shabby, huh? I also made the “fibery” pink paper on this LO. I used several creative use elements by GUNHILD STOREIDE to create my embellishments and the pictures are from my niece’s b-day party in 2006.

I finally got to give Karey her badge album last night so check back soon because I’m going to post the final LO’s here. I didn’t want to put them up sooner because I wanted to see the look on her face when she saw them. I have to say that her little girl is such a beautiful baby. I know I’m probably a bit biased, but I can’t help it…and she’s even prettier in person!

Commercial Use Word Art - Freebie

I really like this poem by Kirsti Dyer. I used it last week in a lay out I completed in memory of my dad (see June 3 post below). Today, I’m sharing the word art with you. You can grab it here. I made a couple vellum backgrounds, the “Daddy” I used in my LO, plus a grunge heart and “Mother”. I hope you like them! Don’t forget, you can always make your own vellum backgrounds and make fun new effects by layering on different papers. Have fun and enjoy being kreative!

I can see clearly now...

This is an exciting day! I am seeing the world clearly for the first time - no glasses, no contacts, just my eyes working the way they’re supposed to. :o) Yesterday I had LASIK eye surgery and as you can see above, there’s a BIG difference in the way I see the world.

The graphic on the left represents what I used to see when I looked at the doctor’s eye chart without glasses. This is what it has looked like for as long as I can remember. You see, I have been wearing glasses since I was two (at least, that’s what mom tells me). Yes, two years old. I can’t even remember a time when I wasn’t wearing glasses or contacts.

The graphic on the right is what the eye chart looked like at my follow up visit this morning. Less than 24 hours after my surgery. This morning I was at 20/30 in each eye separately and 20/25 with both eyes – how amazing is that? Remember that "perfect" vision is considered 20/20. I was able to read the instructions on my eye drops from a normal distance – before, I would have needed to hold box less than 1 inch away from my eyes in order to read it with out glasses! As my hubby drove us to my eye appointment this morning, I marveled at being able to see street signs, tree leaves and license plates with out even squinting.

Ok, so maybe I am exaggerating just a little bit - I’m not seeing completely clearly. There is a little bit of haze – kind of like looking through fog. The doctor says that’s normal and should go away as my eyes heal. Also, my eyes hurt and when they get dry, it feels like I have sand in my eyes…but I am so happy b/c I can see such a difference. I have to wear sunglasses indoors for the next 3 days and outside for at least a month. I also have to wear goggles to sleep for the next 7 days (so I don’t accidentally rub my eyes).

The surgery didn’t hurt, but it was nerve racking! I won’t go into detail b/c every time I start talking about it, people get all queasy. But, I think it’s a great trade off for being able to see. Whoo hoo!

Has it really been 1 year?

Today’s LO is for my dad, who passed away 1 year ago today. I thought this would be a very hard day – while I am sad, it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. I guess time does heal all wounds.

In the view finder reel, I placed pics of my dad from infant to September 2006 (my wedding). I also placed pics of things that remind me of him:

* White diamonds perfume - he bought this for me for Christmas several times
* A circuit board - he was an electronics technician and loved to tinker with things
* Coke – dad’s favorite drink of all time
* Blueberry pie – his favorite dessert
* Pizza – we ate a lot of pizza when I was a kid, my dad loved it – especially Conan’s Pizza

The word art is the first verse of a poem by Kristi Dyer:
I find an old photograph
And I see your smile.
As I feel your presence anew,
I am filled with warmth
And my heart remembers love.

This poem expresses my feelings so eloquently…not all of my memories of my dad are pleasant, but as time passes, I remember only love.

Working on a present...

I’ve been working on a template pack that will be available at Scrapper’s Zone very soon. The templates are for badge albums (like the one above) which make perfect gifts for people who have to carry a badge to get into work everyday!

I used one of my templates to create the LO above. One of my best friends from high school had her first baby last week – I’m so thrilled for her. They emailed me some photos and I “borrowed" one to do this page. I’m going to do a whole badge album and send it to her. *Kareygirl, if you’re reading this, act surprised when you get my gift! ;o) I used a digiscrap kit called “For Nadya” by Bunny Cates (of digital-scrapbooking.org) & Kim Broedelet (of Kimb's designs).

I’m sorry I haven’t blogged in a while. I promise not to let it slip for this long any time soon. In my defense, I’ve been super busy trying to get ahead on my homework and work-work because I have Lasik surgery scheduled for this Thursday. I want to make sure I don’t leave anything unfinished so that I can let me eyes rest for a couple of days after the surgery. I’m so excited and so scared all at the same time. I’ve done a lot of research and I know the risk of complications is less than 1%...but there’s that little voice inside that keeps saying, “what if you’re that less than 1%?” But, I think it’s worth it to finally be able to see! I’ve worn glasses since I was 2! So, it’s about time.

Ocean Friends Charity Kit

I have a group of friends that are busy creating a mega kit to raise money for the Shiner’s Hospital. One of our friends has a daughter who is being helped tremendously by this generous charity and they wanted to do something nice in return. Here is my contribution to the Ocean Friends Charity Kit. The kit won’t be in stores for a while because our fearless leader for this project is spending the next few months with her daughter as show goes through surgery and recovery. It’s been a hectic week and I’m SO behind on my blog. {Sorry} My mom had an emergency appendectomy last Wednesday. It took a few days for her to recover but I’m happy to tell you she went home this weekend. Combine that with daily visits to my grandmother (who is still recovering from her recent fall) in the nursing home, a 40 hour work week, homework and trying to spend some time with my hubby – I just didn’t have a lot of time left!

Well, as you may remember, we went to Dallas a couple weekends ago to visit our good friends the Parmas. It was Keith’s b-day & graduation day! On Sunday, we went down town and took some photos in the arts district. I’ve got to get busy uploading those to Kodak gallery! In the mean time, here’s a snap shot of Carrie and I in front of a SATC movie poster. We both saw this from across the street and knew we needed a picture - we are BIG fans of the show and are anxiously awaiting the movie release at the end of this month.

Guadalupe Cathedral Photo

I took this picture of the Guadalupe Cathedral during our trip to Dallas this past weekend. The bells went off while we were downtown and I have to say, it sounded so beautiful (loud – but beautiful).We spent a few hours on Sunday exploring the Arts District and I got some very cool pics. I’ll share more with you soon.

Monday Update

We got back from Dallas late last night, so I won’t have any pics to share with you for a few days. But, we had a great time with Keith and Carrie so I’ll give you more details later in the week.

In addition to all the digiscrap fun I had last week during the National Scrapbook Day celebrations, I actually made some time to sit down and paper scrap. These pics of my nephew, Luke, are from 2006. Mom and I went to MN to visit for Mother’s Day. This LO is extra special because I used some elements out of the Scrapbook Trunk that Ashley and Stephanie gave me for my birthday. They gave me this awesome red trunk with over 400 scrapbook treasures! It ROCKS! Thank you gals. I know I’ve said this before, but this was a GREAT gift and I LOVE it!

NSD Celebration Wrap Up

Its Fiesta time in San Antonio – 10 days full of parties, parades, celebrations and plenty of fun! The whole town is covered in colorful decorations and it seems like everybody is in a party mood. Everyone (from news reporters to strangers on the street) is shouting "Viva Fiesta!" and all this festive fun inspired me to create a new digiscrap kit that’s now available in my store at scrapper’s zone.

You can’t have a Fiesta without cascarones (confetti eggs) and this kit has plenty of them! You’ll also find lots of bright colors and unique elements that make the Fiesta kit perfect for all your party photos!

Decorating a Pumpkin

Well, I’m back. My grandmother has been moved into a nursing home that provides rehabilitation. As soon as her back starts to feel better, they’re going work with her so she can start walking again - then she'll be able to go home. She is going to be on oxygen from now on and we’ll have to take extra care to protect her from the flue and/or pneumonia since she only has one working lung. Getting all that sorted out last week, making up the time I missed from work and finishing my homework took up so much time that I wasn’t able to scrap or blog.

Here are some pics of my sister and her youngest son taken just before this past Halloween. He was too young to carve the pumpkin like the rest of us. But that was fine because he had such a great time painting, gluing, etc…on this pumpkin! I used a kit called Harvest Spice by Shabby Princess.

MIA

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say I'm sorry I've been MIA the past few days. My grandmother fell on Monday morning and hurt her back. Since my father passed away 10 months ago, I'm the only family she has left (except my sister but she lives in another state) so that leaves all grandma's care up to me. I've been with her in the hospital for a couple days as they've been trying to figure out why she keeps falling - this is fall number 4 (or 5, I’ve lost count) in the past 2 years. Luckily there are no broken bones but she has a lot of back pain. They ran a bunch of test looking for blood clots that may have been cutting off her oxygen (her blood pressure and oxygen levels were very low) and discovered something else entirely. She has a whole in her diaphragm and a large amount of her internal organs have migrated up into her left lung cavity - the organs are restricting her lung so it can’t inflate and she’s not getting enough oxygen. She’s going to be 94 in August so the doctors are hesitant to do any major surgery but they’re trying to come up with a course of action. Meanwhile, I’m not getting a lot of time for personal interests and only came back to work for a few hours today. I’ll be in touch as soon as I can.

Here’s a picture I took of our nieces playing in the back of SD’s truck - they were watching their brother and SD practice football. It was impossible to get a good picture of these to active girls together! I’ve had to so much fun scrapping with “Juicy” I just had to post another LO I made with this kit! Doesn’t that apple look yummy? That’s what “Juicy” is all about – delicious, can’t wait to bite into it, fruit! It's about fun with your friends and family and enjoying the sweat life.

Seven things about me:

1. I’m back in school and OMG does it take a lot of time. How did I do this before?
2. I absolutely love to take pretty pictures and share them with family and friends.
3. My favorite sandwich from “Which Wich” is the egg salad on wheat with cheddar, garlic and pickles. But don’t get to close after I’ve had one or your nose will run off your face! ;o)
4. I love to sit outside and watch the rain.
5. My hubby and I have a big DVD collection - over 300 the last time I checked.
6. I love to buy new shoes and I keep them all in plastic boxes (with pictures) in the top (and bottom and anywhere else I can cram them) of my closet.
7. I love to cuddle but when it’s time to sleep, I need my space so please don’t crowd me.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was very busy with a bunch of homework, a baby shower and dinner with friends on Saturday - followed by more homework, and housework on Sunday. Boy, am I glad to get back to work! ;o)

Celebrating with a Free Gift for You!

Today I am celebrating! Not only is today FRIDAY, but I logged into scrapper’s zone this morning and to my great surprise a beautiful set of layouts using one of my kits was right there, before my eyes. I wanted to shout “whoo hoo” but everyone would have looked at me like I was crazy so I just did a little happy dance in my seat. I can’t tell you how proud I felt to see someone else make a LO with the very first digiscrap kit I ever designed. I’m not a mother, but this sense of pride must be close to what it feels like to see your kiddo accomplish something new.

Here’s a picture of SD’s nephew. This picture is almost 2 years old so it’s about time I scrapped it. I have SO many pictures to get scrapped and since I discovered digiscrapping, things are going much faster!

I used the “sunshine thank you” kit by the Sunshine Girls to scrap this page. I recently applied for their creative team but they’ve got a huge following of outstanding, experienced digiscrappers, so I didn’t make it. But, they sent me this freebie kit just to say thanks for applying…talk about a sweet bunch of ladies.

I didn't have a lot of time to scrap today so I made a quick doodle to share. It's Monday and as usual, I'm super busy! I've got this art project on my brain these days...I want to go to a vineyard and take some pics and turn them into a design for this big, blank wall in my kitchen. So, I've been playing with different grape themes while I try to get a better idea of what I want to do.

Today I was practicing my Photoshop skills by working through random tutorials online and I ran across this cool action that curls the edge of your paper! I liked it so much that I immediately used it to scrap this picture of my niece. I think it really gives this page that little something extra special.
