Corvette Poster Complete

This poster took a while to finish because the owner and I had trouble finding time to meet so that I could get a photo at the right angle. I took some pics at a car show, but there were SO many other cars around that I couldn’t get a pic of the car at the angle he wants. Oh well, it’s all done now and I have another commercial design to add to my portfolio. Yeah!

New Lay Out

I've been working on a new kit and trying to catch up on scrapping some layouts, so I haven't blogged in a few days. Here's a LO I finished today. I scrapped this pic of Gab at my friend Yvette’s baby shower in April....she looks thrilled doesn't she? lol. I completed this LO with my portion of the Music Team Kit available at Scrapper's Zone. I’m working on a few other Los, but they aren’t ready yet - I'll share them you soon.

We're expecting bad weather this weekend - ok, not as bad as the people close to the coast, but lots of wind and high rains…I can’t wait. I love a good thunderstorm.

It’s been 7 years since the attack on the World Trade Center in NY. Please don’t let this day go by with out a quick prayer for everyone who was affected by this tragedy. They say time heals all wounds, which is a good thing…but we have to work hard to remember the past and to learn from it.

Curled Page Action

Today I was practicing my Photoshop skills by working through random tutorials online and I ran across this cool action that curls the edge of your paper! I liked it so much that I immediately used it to scrap this picture of my niece. I think it really gives this page that little something extra special.

Today I spent some time playing with various filters in photoshop. The sketched version of this picture took the longest as it required several filters and even a little bit of "drawing" on my part. Turned out pretty neat, huh?

Plastic, Multi-colored Flowers

I've been practicing drawing flowers today. I liked how this flower turned out so, I turned it into a brush and made this pattern, added some colors and special effects and - tada - platic, multi-colored flowers on a green splashed background. Too much fun!

Plaid Flower

So I was playing around in PS today – trying to figure out how to draw a plaid background. I was following a tutorial online, but they were using a different version of PS so it wasn’t working very well. Lucky me, I figured it out and ended up with this design. ;o)

Saving a Memory

Most people who know me well, know that I love taking pictures - I even love being in them. Any excuse I can find to snap a photo, I will take it. I can’t help myself - I loving having that little point in time saved forever on my SD card. And that is why I have a photo of myself “hamming it up” with this golden pig! Why else would a perfectly normal person have a picture of themselves with something like this? We were in Seattle and the city was preparing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Pike Place Market with a bunch of elaborately decorated pig statues and I just had to have my picture taken with a pig.

My hubby snapped this photo of me (my hands) while I pulled the string on this party popper. Of course the confetti comes out pretty fast, so I had to add those in with Photoshop brushes!
We spent New Year’s Eve at a party at our friend Tiffany and Paul’s house in Kyle. Even though we’ve lived in SA for 5.5 years, most of our really good friends are still in the Austin area. Guess that means we’ll have to move back home one day! ;o)

DJ Bola D

This design was inspired by these cool DJ brushes I found online - and since my brother-in-law is a DJ, he was the perfect subject! There's a lot of fading and texture here - it took some time to put together but I figured my first post of the new year should be a good one! Of course, I didn't have any good photos of him in action, so I had use what I had with me....Maybe I'll take some at the next party.

On the train at MOA's Park After Dark

I tried to get some cool shots of Lynn & the boys on this train ride - but this was the trip when my camera died so I didn't have much luck. Intead, I took this shot of the train in motion and added Lynn & the boys from another picture where they were sitting still. It's not exactly "realistic", but it does look neat!

Hemisfair Park

This photo was shot in color but I wanted to make it more dramatic. First I brightened up the letters because they’re really white and get lost in the bright picture - but it just didn’t pop enough so I turned them yellow. I liked that look and I decided to make each light bulb yellow, instead of white. The effect was awesome, but still not very exciting. So, I turned the photo B&W but left the bright yellow additions and added a little bit of glow. Now that’s dramatic!

Trees

I really like colors in this one - it was so much fun to create.

Explosion

This explosion was drawn from scratch using various filters and color saturations in photoshop. Pretty neat hugh?
