I have a group of friends that are busy creating a mega kit to raise money for the Shiner’s Hospital. One of our friends has a daughter who is being helped tremendously by this generous charity and they wanted to do something nice in return. Here is my contribution to the Ocean Friends Charity Kit. The kit won’t be in stores for a while because our fearless leader for this project is spending the next few months with her daughter as show goes through surgery and recovery. As soon as the kit is available for purchase, I’ll make sure to let you all know!

Hello Readers!
It’s been a hectic week and I’m SO behind on my blog. {Sorry} My mom had an emergency appendectomy last Wednesday. It took a few days for her to recover but I’m happy to tell you she went home this weekend. Combine that with daily visits to my grandmother (who is still recovering from her recent fall) in the nursing home, a 40 hour work week, homework and trying to spend some time with my hubby – I just didn’t have a lot of time left!
Well, as you may remember, we went to Dallas a couple weekends ago to visit our good friends the Parmas. It was Keith’s b-day & graduation day! On Sunday, we went down town and took some photos in the arts district. I’ve got to get busy uploading those to Kodak gallery! In the mean time, here’s a snap shot of Carrie and I in front of a SATC movie poster. We both saw this from across the street and knew we needed a picture - we are BIG fans of the show and are anxiously awaiting the movie release at the end of this month.

Guadalupe Cathedral Photo
I took this picture of the Guadalupe Cathedral during our trip to Dallas this past weekend. The bells went off while we were downtown and I have to say, it sounded so beautiful (loud – but beautiful). We spent a few hours on Sunday exploring the Arts District and I got some very cool pics. I’ll share more with you soon.
In the mean time, I googled the church and found some fun facts:
Designed by renowned architect Nicholas J. Clayton
The Cathedral's cornerstone was laid on June 17, 1898
The doors to this church were opened in 1902
More than 17,000 families attend services here

Monday Update
We got back from Dallas late last night, so I won’t have any pics to share with you for a few days. But, we had a great time with Keith and Carrie so I’ll give you more details later in the week.
In addition to all the digiscrap fun I had last week during the National Scrapbook Day celebrations, I actually made some time to sit down and paper scrap. These pics of my nephew, Luke, are from 2006. Mom and I went to MN to visit for Mother’s Day. This LO is extra special because I used some elements out of the Scrapbook Trunk that Ashley and Stephanie gave me for my birthday. They gave me this awesome red trunk with over 400 scrapbook treasures! It ROCKS! Thank you gals. I know I’ve said this before, but this was a GREAT gift and I LOVE it!

NSD Celebration Wrap Up
I hope you all enjoyed the NSD freebies I’ve posted here for the last 7 days. They'll be here for a while so if you didn't get them all, there's still plenty of time.
The celebration at Scrapper’s Zone was a lot of fun! I participated in 3 challenges (I started a 4th LO, but couldn’t get it finished in time). I also hosted the Daily Alpha challenge where participants got a new alpha each day and were to incorporate it in a LO. At first I thought I would have to make 7 full alpha sets, but luckily Nancy and Patricia came to my rescue and I only had to make 1. Whew! Here are the LOs I finished for the Element, Circle and Multi Photo challenges respectively. (As soon as I can, I'll finish the LO for the Template Challenge and post it here for you to see.)
Element Challenge - incorporate these 3 elements into a LO (rose, metalic swirl, button)
Circle Challenge - incorporate circles in your LO

Multi Photo Challenge - Create a LO with atleast 5 photos

SD and I are heading to Dallas this weekend. Our friend Keith and SD's cousin, Rene, are graduating from college! Congrats guys.

What do you think of this photo matt? It comes complete with stitching so all you have to do is place it on your page and drop a photo on top! It’s that easy. Of course if you‘d like to add a little more embellishments, it would look neat with some staples or brads. Your imagination is the limit! Click here to grab this fun freebie.
There’s only 1 more day to get your LOs submitted to the NSD challenges at Scrapper’s Zone.
